Let’s talk body image. How do you see yourself when you look in the mirror or when you picture yourself in your mind?
- What do you believe about your own appearance?
- How do you feel about your body (height, weight, shape)?
- How do you feel IN your body when you move?
People with negative body image have a greater likelihood of developing an eating disorder and more likely to suffer from depression, isolation, low self-esteem, and obsessions with weight loss.
Can I get real here? HELLO THIS IS ME!!!
I felt ALL of the above for too long. Putting myself down, comparing myself to others, wishing/ hoping/ dreaming for a better body.
Not any more!!! I recognize now how hard I’ve been on myself and more importantly, how this has affected EVERYTHING in my life — relationships, family, work, passions.
If I doubt myself, by telling me I’m unworthy, then all facets of my life will align itself to PROVE me right! I am unworthy because nothing is going my way!
Finally, I have figured out this thing called life (sorry had to quote Prince there).
My body is the way that it is because of my thoughts and actions. What if I truly believed that God created me in His image and likeness? Would I tell Him the same things I tell myself?
Rather than focusing on the scale, as I mentioned in my post-cleanse follow-up, I WILL concentrate on my successes and my good health.
Who’s with me?
